9 Who can see which customers
You see your own customers and your team's customers, not everyone's. Having the same role as a colleague does not give you the same customers. What you see depends on who owns each customer and who your manager is.
| Word | What it means |
|---|---|
| Owner | The person responsible for the customer. Usually whoever added it. |
| Assigned user | Another person given access to the customer. The creator is added automatically. |
| Team | You and everyone who reports to you directly or through other managers. |
| Short Code | Shown in place of the company name when a customer belongs to another team. |
The list shows a customer when you or anyone in your team, is its owner or an assigned user.
Example
| Situation | What each person sees |
|---|---|
| Six colleagues at the same level, none managing another | Each sees only their own customers. |
| The same six all report to one manager | Each sees their own. The manager sees all six people's customers. |
| User A manages user B | A sees A's and B's customers. B sees only B's. |
| A customer is assigned to another user | That user and their managers, can see it. |
If a customer is missing from your list
- Clear any search boxes under the column headings.
- Ask your administrator to check the customer's owner and assigned users. Customers brought in from a file may have no owner and will not appear until one is set.
- Remember that the permission See All Suppliers and Customers can let you open another customer's edit page, but it does not add that customer to your list.
Changing an owner
You cannot change the owner on the Customer DB edit page. Your administrator does it under Members → Owner Assignment. Extra access is given under Members → User Assignment.
Note: Removing an assignment removes only that route to the customer. Ownership or your place in the team may still give you access.
If you open a customer you do not have access to, the page AccessDenied appears.
